<description>From October to December 2011, I had the opportunity to work with the stellar Creative Team for Old Navy Online at Gap, Inc. During my time there, I worked as a freelance production artist, helping the web designers with projects in preparation for the busy 2011 holiday season. It was a wonderful opportunity to gain some real world experience and see how a creative team works together.

The following project was concepted by the creative director and I was given the chance to fill out the details. There is one main page, and a few sidebars to run along the main pages for various departments. It was live in various aspects from mid-January to February 2012.

<description>Below is a screen capture video displaying three different iterations I coded using Processing. Called "sketches," Processing has the ability to create interactive little applets, embedded into a webpage using Java.

The concept was to create three different versions of a sketch using mouseovers. As a result, all three iterations look similar, but have small differences, such as text, and non-clearing images.

Play with the sketches yourself here!

<description>Clouds was an on-site installation that took place in my garage that explored the process of creating organic patterns. My partner Yifan Zhangxu and I assembled the 3D sculpture and captured its movements on video to share with our Pattern, Form, and Surface class at UC Davis (155a) under the instruction of Professor Susan Verba.

The result is what you see below. To understand how we got here, we documented our process in a book, available for view here (PDF).

<description>Constellations is a four-part drypoint print series. Using etching techniques, I transformed the same zinc plate into four different states of night sky. Black areas are areas I etched out, and white areas were left alone or rubbed back out.

(1-4) sky, Cassiopeia, Scorpius, Pegasus

<description>Below are two different assignments from a Web Design course I took while enrolled at the University of California, Davis. All of it was coded and designed by me in July and August of 2010.

First, a redesign of a sushi restaurant website. (See the full site here!) The concept was to create a clean look and light color palette to enhance the feel of a fresh, sanitary, but fun restaurant.
&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125247/1922193/fuji_1.png" width="670" height="463" width_o="680" height_o="470" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125247/1922193/fuji_1_o.png" data-mid="9575851"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125247/1922193/fuji_2.png" width="670" height="463" width_o="680" height_o="470" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125247/1922193/fuji_2_o.png" data-mid="9575853"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125247/1922193/fuji_3.png" width="670" height="463" width_o="680" height_o="470" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125247/1922193/fuji_3_o.png" data-mid="9575854"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Second, a site for a pretend charity, thought up by me. The charity would send a box of condoms to Africa for HIV prevention for every box of their brand bought in America. See this site live here!

		<description>KDVS 90.3 is a freeform, non-profit radio station on-campus at UC Davis.

The brief was to update the identity of a non-profit, and for me, it made sense to look close to home. My goal was to update the KDVS logo to a simpler, more streamlined mark, that would be modern and still keep the identity of the station: old-school!

<description>The brief for this project called for a redesign of a food item: and I couldn't help but choose my favorite frozen treat of all time, Dreyer's Fruit Bars.

In addition to being delicious, they are also all-natural, so I decided to focus on that aspect for my design. I wanted to emphasize a cleaner, yet "recycle chic" look, as opposed to the strawberry explosion that was.

The dimensions of the box were also considered: a squarer design means an easier fit in the freezer door! Also, the top flaps fold and unfold open and closed, as opposed to a tab, a biology-inspired detail.

<description>Our senior year of college, my roommate and good friend became a co-president of Runway Designers Club, the student group that coordinates the collections class and fashion show for the Fashion and Textiles Design students.

I updated the logo to a simpler design. The concept was the idea of "the little black dress", multiplied, into a kaleidoscopic mark reminiscent of a flower.

I was also responsible for some promotional materials for the club, including posters and the program for the Signature Collections Show.

<description>This tshirt was designed for the 2010-2011 staff and volunteers of Entertainment Council, the Associated Students of UC Davis unit responsible for providing the many students of UC Davis with entertainment year-round.

The design is bold and simple. The red shirt and bright yellow of the graphic helps the staff/volunteers stand out in a crowd--perfect for events where there are hundreds of people in attendance.
